April 22nd...

Turbocharger is shot... pulled it out & apart today and the turbine wheel is toast. Looks like I bumped the fuelling up too high.


















I think the trip to Montreal really killed it. I was driving with the foot to the floor most of the trip. On the way there, I had the weight of a cast iron fire hydrant. On the way back I had a 2' x 2' x 3' woodbox on the roof rack... it was like driving with a parachute. (note for clarity: foot to the mat & unable to maintain 100 kph... took 11 hrs from Montreal to SJ)

Ah well... I've got access to a few larger k24 turbos. Looks like they'll swap in relatively easy and offer better breathing and more boost than the k03. I'll put in an EGT gauge this time.
